How to Make an Apple Cider Float
First, you’ll probably want some good caramel sauce, although this ingredient is optional. You can easily make your own with items you have on hand: white granulated sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla and salt. But store-bought caramel sauce will do just fine as well!

Want to make your own caramel sauce? Here’s a step-by-step guide to the perfect homemade caramel sauce!
Place a couple scoops of ice cream into your pint glass or large mason jar. You’ll want the ice cream to go in first to minimize the foaming and fizz.

Then, pour in the ginger ale — slowly! You’ll see the foaminess right away. You can clear some of it away with a straw or a spoon to make room for the apple cider. Pour in the apple cider next, again slowly.

Finally, top your apple cider float with a drizzle of caramel sauce and/or a sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice!
