Nutritional Yeast Popcorn
Adding nutritional yeast on your popcorn gives it a nutty and slightly cheesy flavor. You can add other seasoning along with the nutritional yeast, such as garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt.

Servings: 4
- ½ cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons oil (canola oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, or olive oil)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ⅓ cup nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- salt to season
In a large pot, heat oil on medium high. You can test if the oil is ready by using 2 or three kernels. When they pop, the oil is ready for the full ½ cup of kernels. Shake the pan to ensure the kernels are in a single layer.
Cook the kernels until they are mostly all popped, shaking frequently. Once the popcorn has finished popping, transfer it to a large bowl.
In a small bowl, combine the nutritional yeast, garlic powder and salt.
Melt two tablespoons of butter and drizzle over the popcorn. (Alternatively, you could spray the popcorn lightly with coconut or olive oil cooking spray.)
Sprinkle the nutritional yeast and seasonings mix over the popcorn and mix to coat the popcorn evenly. Serve immediately. (Keeps 1 to 2 days in an air tight container or zip-lock bag.)
