Cowboy Butter

Use this herb- and spice-filled Cowboy butter on your chicken, steak, or any dish that could use a burst of spice and flavor, especially grilled meats!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened (1/2 cup)
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 3 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
  • teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 1½ teaspoon)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Allow the stick of butter to soften. Add to a small mixing bowl. Add all of the ingredients, including the herbs and spices, and use a fork to combine.
  • Place the butter on a sheet of parchment or wax paper. Roll the butter into a log and twist the ends to tighten. Place the roll of Cowboy Butter in the fridge to firm for at least an hour.
  • Remove the Cowboy Butter from the parchment paper and cut into slices.
