Cowboy Butter
Use this herb- and spice-filled Cowboy butter on your chicken, steak, or any dish that could use a burst of spice and flavor, especially grilled meats!
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened (1/2 cup)
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh chives
- 3 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1½ teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 1½ teaspoon)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Allow the stick of butter to soften. Add to a small mixing bowl. Add all of the ingredients, including the herbs and spices, and use a fork to combine.
Place the butter on a sheet of parchment or wax paper. Roll the butter into a log and twist the ends to tighten. Place the roll of Cowboy Butter in the fridge to firm for at least an hour.
Remove the Cowboy Butter from the parchment paper and cut into slices.
