Candy Cane Fudge

Candy candy fudge is a colorful and festive chocolate bite of creaminess - and it's easy to make. You can use it during the holidays, for a party or as a way to use leftover candy canes.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups high quality chocolate chips (semi sweet)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Prepare an 8 x 8 baking pan or casserole dish by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Crush 2 - 3 candy canes in a plastic baggie using a hammer. Tap GENTLY into small bits.
  • In a sauce pan over medium heat, sweetened condensed milk, mix chocolate chips, salt, and butter. Bring the mixture to 110° to 112° using a candy thermometer (or for about 3 minutes.)
  • Add peppermint extract. Stir mixture for about one minute until the ingredients are well combined and the chocolate is thoroughly melted.
  • Immediately pour chocolate fudge into the baking pan, spreading evenly using the spatula. Top with an even layer of crushed candy canes.
  • Allow the peppermint candy cane fudge too cool at least an hour. Once is has solidified, cut into even cubes.
